The Town of Tangier WWTP is in need of replacement equipment that is critical to effective plant operations and to insure continued protection of the Chesapeake Bay. The isolated nature of this unique island community requires that wastewater treatment equipment be in good working order and be highly reliable to provide the highest level of environmental protection. The project also includes upgrading the energy efficiency of the facility through building and HVAC upgrades. Critical items include pumps, screening equipment, sludge processing equipment, and a replacement incinerator to burn sludge and municipal trash. Plant safety will be improved. Building and lighting upgrades will use EPA Energy Star Program recommendations.Wiki Description
